Tuning your kit
Tune the signal in this order so one problem does not hide another.
1. Select and verify the profile
Section titled “1. Select and verify the profile”Open Settings → MIDI, select the exact kit family, then use MIDI Monitor. Test every head, rim, cymbal zone, hi-hat position, and pedal. Create a custom map with MIDI Learn — Create Custom Profile when notes differ.
2. Tune trigger response on the module
Section titled “2. Tune trigger response on the module”Use the module’s sensitivity and velocity-curve controls so light-to-hard playing produces a useful range instead of clustering near 1 or 127. Set thresholds high enough to reject vibration but low enough to retain ghost notes. Fix retriggering and crosstalk on the module. Rhythma has no pad-sensitivity control.

3. Align timing
Section titled “3. Align timing”Choose Run Timing Alignment in the Timing Alignment section and follow the click/strike prompts. Apply the result to the current profile and connected MIDI device. If necessary, adjust Manual offset toward Early or Late in 1 ms steps, then replay a steady exercise. Reset to 0ms removes a manual adjustment.
Calibration is setup-specific. Repeat it after changing the kit profile, MIDI device, audio route, headphones, or browser/device. Never use the offset slider to correct inconsistent strokes or wrong mappings.
