Bluetooth MIDI on iOS

Bluetooth MIDI and Bluetooth audio are separate connections. Pair the drum module or adapter from Rhythma’s iOS MIDI connection flow; pairing it only as headphones does not send drum hits.

1. Enable Bluetooth MIDI advertising on the module or adapter.
2. Keep it close to the iPhone or iPad and disconnect it from other hosts.
3. Open Rhythma’s MIDI connection flow and allow Bluetooth access.
4. Select the device, then strike a pad and verify activity.
5. Choose the correct kit profile and test all zones.

Bluetooth MIDI can work well, but wired USB MIDI is the more predictable choice for timing-critical practice. Bluetooth headphones add a much larger audio delay than Bluetooth MIDI itself. Prefer the device speaker, wired headphones through an adapter, or a shared mixer/interface.

If the device does not appear, stop advertising and restart it, turn Bluetooth off and on, and ensure another app or tablet has not claimed the connection. If pairing works but no pads register, verify the adapter direction and that the module is transmitting note-on messages.
