What's new in Rhythma: September 2026
We have shipped quite a few improvements over the last few weeks. Here is a round-up of what has changed.
Calmer, clearer hit feedback
Section titled “Calmer, clearer hit feedback”The practice view has a new look. Expected notes now appear as rounded pills that move towards the hit line, and each note you play lands as a glowing dot coloured by how accurate it was:
- Green: right on time
- Yellow: early
- Purple: late
- Red: wrong drum
Once a note passes the hit line it fades to an outline, so your eye stays on what is coming next. It is the same information as before, just much easier to read at a glance while you are playing.
Setup when you want it, not before
Section titled “Setup when you want it, not before”New players used to be sent straight into a welcome wizard. That setup now lives in Settings → Profile → Welcome setup. You can run it whenever you like, and run it again later if you change kits. A small, dismissible prompt points new players there, and nothing stops you from going straight to practising.
A simpler results screen
Section titled “A simpler results screen”After each attempt, the results screen now shows just three actions: Retry, carry on, and a link to Detailed results. There are fewer buttons to read before you play again.
Better Roland V-Drums support
Section titled “Better Roland V-Drums support”We have improved how Rhythma recognises Roland V-Drums modules and maps their pads, so more Roland kits should work correctly as soon as they are plugged in. If your kit still does something unexpected, the Roland TD guide and MIDI troubleshooting pages are the best places to start.
A fresh coat of paint
Section titled “A fresh coat of paint”The Settings and Account pages have been redesigned to match the rest of the studio, and on phones the menu now opens as a clean full-height sheet.
New courses
Section titled “New courses”Jazz Drumming 1 and Linear Drumming 1 are now in the library, and Linear Drumming 1 is free. There is a separate post about them.
Coming soon: Rhythma for iPhone and iPad
Section titled “Coming soon: Rhythma for iPhone and iPad”The iPhone and iPad app is in final testing. You will see a “Coming soon” note on the home page and your dashboard, and it will turn into an App Store link on launch day. You will sign in with the same Rhythma account you use on the web.
As always, if something is not working the way you expect, the FAQ is a good first stop.
